Former US President Barack Obama has always won hearts not only with his work but also with his sense of humour. Time and again the former President has made headlines for his one-liner for his wife and former first lady Michelle Obama. Barack and Michelle are currently in news for the Netflix documentary Becoming, where Michelle has poured her heart out. Now a throwback video of Barack Obama introducing himself has gone viral once again.
The video, from February last year, has the former US president epically introducing himself. The video opens to Barack introducing himself as Michelle’s husband at the fifth anniversary of the My Brother's Keeper Alliance- an organisation that strives to close opportunity gaps faced by young minority men. He is seen saying, “For those of you don’t know me, I am Michelle’s husband.” Well, as heard in the video, his introduction receives applauds from one and all sitting in the audience. The video has already received some 1.1M views and above 388 re-tweets.
Earlier, Michelle Obama had taken to her Twitter handle and tweeted about the documentary, “In the film BECOMING, you will get to know an extraordinary young woman, Shayla, and her family. Their love and sacrifices for each other will inspire you, and I can’t wait to share their story. #IAmBecoming”
Commenting on it, netizens had commented saying, “We need #MichelleObama as VP but I know we aren’t worthy. But damn that woman is *the* national treasure. Barack is cool too. #becomingnetflix." While another had written, "Michelle Obama is #Becoming VP? That’s what I’m hoping for! #AmericaNeedsMichelle." “I know @MichelleObama does not want to run for VP but after watching “becoming” we need her more so now than we needed @BarackObama in 08,” read another comment.
