RRR has achieved an exceptional global feat. Not only has the pan-Indian film gained worldwide recognition, but has bagged many awards at prestigious international award ceremonies, the recent one being the Oscars 2023. Composed by MM Keeravani and written by Chandrabose, the movie’s famous song ‘Naatu Naatu’ was awarded ‘Best Original Song’ which left everyone associated with the project and every Indian feeling proud of the recognition.

Well, now it is being reported that the director SS Rajamouli had to spend nearly Rs 1.5 crores so that he could attend the event along with his family and the leads of the movie. Yes, you read that right! According to the rules of the Academy Awards, only the people nominated for the prestigious award get a free pass for themselves and their plus ones. So the entry pass was only restricted to Keeravani, Chandrabose who were allowed to bring one of their family members each. According to the reports, Koimoi states that Rajamouli had to pay a hefty amount for the rest of the team to attend the award show. He had to buy tickets for himself, his wife Rama Rajamouli, his son Karthikeya, his son’s wife, Ram Charan, Upasana and Jr NTR. The report further states that one ticket at the Oscars costs around Rs 20.6 lakhs, which means, the RRR director had to spend over Rs 1.44 crores so that the team of RRR could enjoy the win of the song together. Well, we would say it was money well-spent as the team rejoicing their win and basking in the glory of their success is a sight that will be remembered by every Indian out there.

Talking about the movie, the SS Rajamouli directorial is set in the 1920s. It follows the journey of a tribal leader, Komaram Bheem, and a police officer, Alluri Sitarama Raju’s, journey to fight for the freedom of their people from the British. The magnum opus movie racked in nearly Rs 1,200 crore at the box office worldwide. The movie also stars Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Olivia Morris, and Ray Stevenson, among many others in pivotal roles.
