A prestigious restaurant in Bandra sparked controversy after raw rat meat in a chicken and mutton dish was discovered. The restaurant instantly landed in trouble as the Bandra Police registered an FIR against the eatery on August 14.

According to the Free Press Journal, the First Information Report (FIR) claims that Anurag Singh (40) and his companion visited Papa Pancho the Dhaba at Pali Naka, Bandra West and they ordered a chicken and mutton plate with roti. However, in a rather unfortunate turn of events, the duo discovered a piece of meat that appeared different. Upon inspection, they realized it was a fragment of rat meat.

Following which, Anurag Singh filed a case at the Bandra Police Station under sections 272 (adulteration of food or drink intended for sale), 336 (act endangering life), and 34 (common intention).

When Singh inquired about the incident with the restaurant manager, he received an unconvincing response. Subsequently, Anurag Singh filed a formal complaint at the Bandra police station.

Responding to the complaint, the cops undertook swift action and registered a case against the restaurant manager, Vivian Albert Shikaver, the chef who was on duty at the time, and the supplier of the chicken.

Moreover, the shocking incident has left netizens disgusted and many have raised their concerns over hygiene and safety standards within the food establishments, prompting authorities to address the matter and investigate the circumstances surrounding the unsettling discovery, reported The Shillong Times.
