Ash and Pikachu journey in the Pokemon series comes to an end, makers announce new characters

Pokemon was one of the most beloved cartoons for the 90s and early 2000s kids. Ash and Pikachu ruled their hearts with their friendship, adventures and tournaments. Now 25 years after the characters were first introduced in 1997, the time for them to say goodbye to their fans has arrived. Yes, you read it right! Ash Ketchum and Pikachu will be leaving Pokemon soon.

On Friday, the producers of the show announced the sad news. Quoted by Jagran, the makers announced, “It will represent everything (fans) love about Pokemon animation, including action, adventure, friendship, and Pokemon.” Actress Sarah Natochenny, who voiced Ash and other characters in English, for the past 17 years, took to twitter to share a heartfelt post.

Promising the fans that she will keep Ash present for all Pokemon lovers, she wrote, “It’s been an extraordinary privilege to have been the English voice of Ash Ketchum for what will be 17 years. No matter what lies beyond his final chapter, he’ll live forever in the hearts of many generations to come. I'll keep him present for all of us in every way I can.”

If reports are to be suggested, the new series will feature famous Pokemons including Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly from the Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon, Pokemon Violet video games. An official statement by the makers shared that fans can look forward to the new character’s incredible journeys as they “unravel the mysteries of the Pokemon world, experiencing everything from exciting Trainer battles to fun Pokemon encounters.”

It further said, “The upcoming story will debut after the conclusion of the current season of the Pokemon animation, Pokemon Ultimate Journeys: The Series, which features Ash Ketchum, Pikachu, and his other Pokemon winning the Masters Eight Tournament of the Pokemon World Coronation Series.”

It is being said that the new series will start in spring 2023 and will feature two new protagonists, a boy named Roy and a young girl named Liko. They will be accompanied by three Paldea starter Pokemon.
