Lately, social media has been flooded with pictures and videos of bizarre creatures across the globe. Now, another TikTok user has found an eerie, monstrous sea creature that will only make you squeal ‘Eww’ or make you feel disgusted. The video instantly went viral and the internet is comparing it to the Stranger Things beast.
The video features a gooseneck barnacle but, for too many viewers, it was scarily reminiscent of The Demogorgon from the hit Netflix science fiction series.
The bizarre clip has instantly racked up more than a million views on The Fish Society's official account, team member Amy Brise is filmed in the video handling the strange-looking creature, the Daily Mirror reports.
Interestingly, the Fish Society regularly shares footage of animals from below the deep and how they can be prepared for meals.
Well, we are guessing that you’ve already lost your appetite looking at this bizarre-looking creature. And, just like the petrifying creature from the show, the fish has extruding tentacles.
The host went on to explain which part of the animal’s ‘feeder’ and when she presses down on this body part, dozens of creepy tendrils pop out. For anyone in doubt, the post was captioned "It’s not a Demogorgon, it’s a gooseneck barnacle."
Interestingly, the gooseneck barnacle is actually a rare and very expensive delicacy but the footage of the creature still spooked and baffled legions of social media users.
Looking at the video, one can only agree, most of the waters and its creatures are unexplored, uncharted and unseen by our eyes. It might be shocking to find out, but only 5% of the ocean has been explored and charted by humans. The rest, especially its depths, are still unknown.
"Don't tell me it's a little Demogorgon," wrote one TikToker, adding a stunning emoji face. A second commented: "That's going to be a no from me", while a third added: "There’s a Pokemon like that." A fourth quipped: "2022 is just dropping new species by the minute now."
Interestingly, the reports suggest that The Fish Society and has more than 200 types of seafood listed on its website but the gooseneck barnacle is definitely among the weirder ones.
