Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar often makes headlines for his bold threats and crimes. On Wednesday, reports started surfacing that he was shot dead in the US during a shooting incident. Soon reports and speculations surrounding his death started doing rounds on social media leaving the netizens buzzing. However, a recent report by Pinkvilla suggests that the reports are false and Brar is indeed alive. Quoting an update by the news agency IANS, the reported that the gangster, an alleged mastermind in the murder of Punjabi musician Sidhu Moosewala and accused of threatening Salman Khan, was not involved in the shooting incident.
The entertainment portal reported that the Fresno Police Department in California refuted the speculations surrounding the shooting incident, which involved two individuals, stating that Brar was not a part of it. Through an email, Lieutenant William J. Dooley confirmed the same. Quoted by Pinkvilla, the email read, “If you are inquiring because of the online chatter claiming that the shooting victim is Goldy Brar, we can confirm that this is absolutely not true.”
Further in his email, he stated that they have received inquiries about the same from all over the world, due to “misinformation being spread on social media and online news agencies.” He went on to conclude, “We are not sure who started this rumor, but it caught on and spread like wildfire. But again, it isn’t true. The victim is definitely not Goldy.”
The officials have yet to disclose the identities of the two individuals involved in the shooting incident. As per the recent report, one individual passed away at the hospital and the other one was discharged after receiving treatment.
For the unversed, counted among Canada’s 25 most wanted criminals, Goldy Brar has reportedly been hiding in the country. Brar, whose real name is Satinderjit Singh, was declared a terrorist under India’s stringent anti-terrorism law UAPA, earlier this year. The Interpol has also issued a Red Corner Notice against him along with a non-bailable warrant.
