Virat Kohli recently shared an image on Twitter with MS Dhoni. It was from 2016 T20 World Cup. This move was quite random and hence people started speculating Dhoni’s retirement announcement. Since the 2019 World Cup, people are anticipating Dhoni’s retirement but no announcement has been made as of yet. Now, Virat Kohli has come out and given his clarification on the image shared. He said that there was no message behind it and it was a post just to celebrate the given inning.
As per News 18, Virat Kohli in his clarification said, “All that I did was put up a pic on Instagram. I never got to talk about that innings so I reminisced about it & people took it the wrong way. There was no message in that picture as people suggested.” While people went speculating, it was MS Dhoni’s wife Sakshi Dhoni who was the first one to put up a clarification. Without writing much, she just put up a post on Twitter that read ‘Its called rumours’. This was enough from all the Dhoni fans to feel good and not sulk over his retirement news.
Virat Kohli and Dhoni have been great friends for ages and it is believable that the current captain of the Indian cricket team put up a friendly post for the former captain. Now that clarification has come in from both the parties, rumours can be laid to rest. Though Dhoni has taken a break from cricket and did not attend the West Indies tour with team India, we are happy to still have him in the team.
