Indian Skipper Virat Kohli and South superstar Tamannaah Bhatia along with Malayalam actor Aju Varghese, who are the brand ambassadors of online rummy games, have found themselves entangled in legal trouble. Reportedly, they have been sent a legal notice from Kerala High court for endorsing the online card game after a petition was filed by a native from Thrissur, as the report states in ANI. The legal notice seeks legal prohibition on online rummy games. Furthermore, it also asked a reply from the Kerala government on this.

“Kerala HC sends notices to Virat Kohli and actors Tamannaah Bhatia & Aju Varghese, who are the brand ambassadors of Online Rummy games, in connection with a petition seeking legal prohibition on online rummy games. Court also asks for a reply from the State Govt on this,” the tweet read. As per Pauly Vadakkan, a Thrissur native who also filed the petition claimed that ‘Online Rummy is within the limits of gambling’

Pauly Vadakkan was quoted as saying by The Indian Express on Wednesday, "Online Rummy games are becoming more and more popular. It should be legally prohibited. Other states have done the same. Kerala has a 1960 law. But no other steps have been taken. It does not include the topic of online rummy. The stars, who are the brand ambassadors, attracted the audience and took part in the competition. Online Rummy is within the limits of gambling."

The legal notice was sent after it was reported that a victim named Vineeth, a 27-year-old Kerala youth died by suicide at Kuttichal in Thiruvananthapuram a couple of weeks ago after losing around Rs 21 lakh while playing online card game.
