Twin sisters from Mumbai have pulled off a rather bizarre stunt and the police officials have reportedly lodged a non-cognisable offence under Section 494. The siblings got married to the same man at a wedding ceremony held in Maharashtra’s Solapur district, and the videos of the same have gone viral, leaving social media users in shock.
A PTI report suggests that the 38-year-old twin sisters Rinky and Pinky agreed to marry Atul and their families agreed to this bizarre arrangement.
In a now-viral video, the not so secret wedding, saw the names of the brides and the groom written prominently at the place where the event was held. The viral clip featured the Jaimala ceremony, and many people can be seen cheering for the twin sisters who tried to garland the groom who was on the shoulders of a few men as it happens in Hindu wedding rituals.

Rinky and Pinky can be seen attempting to garland Atul at the same time and failed in their first attempt. Then they put the jaimala on him one by one.
Shortly after the wedding clip surfaced on social media the police stepped in and Atul has been charged with bigamy, which is illegal and if proven guilty, it can even draws a seven-year jail sentence.
Another ANI report quoted a senior police officer Shirish Sardeshpande, "A non-cognisable offence case under IPC section 494 (marrying again when spouse is alive) was registered against Atul Awtade for marrying twin sisters together on December 2.”
Meanwhile, the National Women’s Commission and the Maharashtra women’s body have also called for action against the trio.

Several reports suggest that the sibling duo and Atul have been living together in the same house since childhood and after the death of Rinky-Pinky's father, Atul helped the family. The reports also suggest that Atul grew close to both sisters when they took their mother to the hospital in his car.
"The twins lived with their mother after their father's death. They both got into a relationship with Atul, who decided to marry both of them," said a relative.
