South superstar Vijay Deverakonda recently met the executive director of Gaiety Galaxy and Maratha Mandir Cinema Manoj Desai in Mumbai. The Arjun Reddy star flew from Hyderabad just to meet the theatre owner who called him ‘arrogant and aanaconda’ over his statement ‘dekh lenge’ on the boycott trends. Vijay met Manoj to clear any kind of ‘misunderstanding’ and clarified that his remarks were taken out of context. The actor also explained that he loves his audience and that he actively participated in the promotions across the nation despite his broken back.
He said, “He (Vijay) is a really very nice guy, down to earth, I will keep loving him always. He has got a bright future and I promise hereby, I will take all his pictures. I wish him all the best. When I met Vijay I realised he thinks about the entire team of his films. I’ve only said sorry to 2 actors - Amitabh Bachchan & now Vijay Deverakonda.”
For the unversed, while slamming Vijay, Manoj Desai had said, “Such behaviour of yours is creating trouble in advance bookings of our theatres. Mr Vijay, you are anaconda not ‘Konda Konda’. You are talking like an anaconda. ‘Vinaash kaale vipareet buddhi (when the time of destruction inches closer, the mind stops working), and you are doing that.”
The Dear Comrade actor made his Bollywood debut with Puri Jagannadh’s directorial Liger which tanked at the box office. The film garnered negative reviews from the audience and critics alike.
