The tragic demise of Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna along with seven others in a fatal helicopter crash left people all over the world in shock. The sports community, as well as the entertainment industry, took to their social media and mourned the loss of the NBA legend and his daughter. Hollywood stars such as Alicia Keys, Lil Nas X, Lizzo and others also paid tribute to Bryant at 2020 Grammys night. Now, Kobe Bryant’s wife Vanessa took to her Instagram and shared a lengthy, emotional note sharing her grief.
Vanessa Bryant shared a video of Kobe and Gianna, and in her caption, she wrote that she had been reluctant to put her feelings into words. “My brain refuses to accept that both Kobe and Gigi are gone. I can’t process both at the same time. It’s like I’m trying to process Kobe being gone but my body refuses to accept my Gigi will never come back to me. It feels wrong. Why should I be able to wake up another day when my baby girl isn’t being able to have that opportunity?!” ALSO READ: Kobe Bryant’s Family Slams Inaccurate Reports, Requests Respect For Privacy After His Demise In Helicopter Crash
Vanessa Bryant further wrote that she needs to be strong for her 3 daughters- Natalia, Bianka, and Capri. She said that while she is mad she was not with Kobe and Gigi, she is thankful she is here with her three other daughters. “I just wanted to share in case there’s anyone out there that’s experienced a loss like this. God I wish they were here and this nightmare would be over. Praying for all of the victims of this horrible tragedy. Please continue to pray for all,” the caption read.
Meanwhile, a few days ago, Molly Carter, president of Kobe Inc., said in a statement to the Los Angeles Times requesting respect and responsible judgment during the difficult time, and also slammed inaccurate reports on the Internet that only add unnecessary pain to the grieving family.
