Samantha Ruth Prabhu became a household name after her stint in Manoj Bajpayee starrer Family Man 2. Her appearance in Koffee with Karan season 7 alongside Akshay Kumar and ‘Oo Antava?’ song in the Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa made her one of the most sought-after actresses in the country. Recently, the actress opened up about being diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called myositis.
She received support from all corners of the world. In a recent interaction with the Hindustan Times, her Yashoda co-star Unni Mukundan shared that she never told him about her diagnoses. He revealed that he felt sad when he saw her Instagram post. He shared, "I didn’t know it while shooting. Samantha was very professional. She never revealed that she was fighting such a disease. I felt sad after seeing Samantha’s post. She’ll fight with myositis and come back in good health." The 35-year-old actor went on to say that she maintained professionalism on set. From interacting with other artists on set to preparing well for her role, he revealed that she is a very hard working actress. He said, "Samantha is a very dedicated and hard-working actress. She has prepared a lot for her role which includes the fights, action and emotional scenes. She interacts well with other artistes on set. We discussed ideas on the improvisation of action in a scene." On the work front, she will be seen in filmmaker duo Hareesh Narayan and Hari Shankar’s directorial, Yashoda. The sci-fi thriller focuses on the journey of a young woman who seemingly falls into the trap of a surrogate racket. In the movie, the audience will see Samantha performing power-packed action sequences. The movie is a multilingual film and is all set to release on November 11.
