Harming the pawwrable munchkins is the last thing anyone could think of, however, two men from Uttar Pradesh seem to be thinking otherwise.
In a rather shocking turn of events, two men in UP’s Bareilly district allegedly chopped off the tail and ear of puppies. The duo was allegedly in an inebriated state, and they also ate the tail and two ears of two puppies as snacks, reported TimesNow.
The stirring incident took place in the SDM colony of Faridpur area in Bareilly district. The reports also suggest that the men were consuming alcohol together when they commited the heinous act.
Later, the puppies were rescued by Satyam Gaur, a member of People for Animals - an organisation working for the welfare of the animals, and were taken to a vet for treatment by him. Meanwhile, Dheeraj Pathak, an animal activist, lodged a complaint about the same with the local police.
A case has been registered on the basis of his complaint and the accused were booked under the Cruelty to Animals Act. According to the police, the condition of puppies is critical.
Strict action will be soon taken against the accused on the basis of the report, said inspector Daya Shankar. The two men are absconding, IANS reported.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time such incidents of animal cruelty have come to light. Earlier this year, a Hyderabad man was arrested for allegedly killing two puppies and uploading videos of the act on social media.
The man reportedly killed one of the puppies by pushing it off the fourth floor of a building and another was hanged to a tree.
