Recently, the President of The United States of America Donald Trump's re-election campaign video was shared by the White House’s head of social media. The video consisted of Linkin Park's In The End soundtrack, however, soon the video was deleted from the micro-blogging site after the band filed a copyright-takedown notice demanding its removal. Due to this, Twitter had to delete it over copyright violation. As we speak of this, we came across a tweet of Linkin Park where they clearly mentioned that they do not endorse Trump neither his organisation can use the band's music.
Taking it to their official Twitter handle, they wrote, "Linkin Park did not and does not endorse Trump, nor authorize his organization to use any of our music. A cease and desist has been issued." As per Variety, they even mentioned that Linkin Park’s late lead singer Chester Bennington who died two years ago, on July 20, 2017, was strongly anti-Trump. The portal carried Bennington tweet which was posted a few months before his death, “I repeat….. Trump is a greater threat to the USA than terrorism!! We have to take back our voices and stand for what we believe in.”
The soundtrack that was used in Trump's video was a cover of In The End by Tommee Profitt featuring Fleurie and Jung Youth. Talking about the same, Jung Youth also made a tweet which read, “Earlier today I found out that trump illegally used a cover song that I am part of in a propaganda video which he tweeted…anyone who knows me knows I stand firmly against bigotry and racism. Much love to everyone in the twitter community who helped get the video taken down fr!!”
