The Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), which was recently passed in the Indian Parliament, has been in the news for majorly all the wrong reasons. People across several parts of India have been expressing their displeasure in the form of protests and a couple of celebrities too have joined the forces. One such case is that of TV actor Sushant Singh, who had to pay a heavy price for raising his voice. The night when he protested against CAA, Singh was ousted as the anchor of a longtime-running show, Savdhaan India.
Though in his recent interview, Sushant Singh stated that he isn’t sure if this was planned or just a mere coincidence. Now, the actor, in a conversation with NDTV, shared his two cents on why he feels that the bringing CAB into effect was a wrong decision and he had a breakdown. Upon being asked that what is wrong with CAA as per him, Sushant says, “The school I had gone, there used to be moral science class ki 'we the citizens of India, we pledge, etc etc etc' and the one point is within the territory of India, no person, not citizen, shall be discriminated on the basis of religion, caste, creed, etc.” (ALSO READ - After Sushant Singh’s SHOCKING Exit From Savdhaan India, Here's What Is Planned For The Show- EXCLUSIVE)

He added, “So, as citizens, we took the pledge ki we will not consider your religion when you are in problem or you come to us. I have so many questions; I am not getting the answers. Why is it not wrong? Why is it not being told that it is not wrong?"
Further, the host asked Sushant that what makes him not keep quiet and raise his voice against CAA. He said, “Because I will be setting a wrong example in front of my kids, I can't run away,” post which he couldn’t control his tears.
