Former actress and politician Smriti Irani is an avid social media user. She is often seen taking to her official handles to share her views and opinions on somethings or interact with her fans. On Sunday evening, she hosted an Ask Me Anything session on Instagram where she was at her candid best while answering her followers’ questions. However, one netizen left her irked when they asked her if she married her friend’s husband.
Setting the record straight for everyone, the 47-year-old gave a befitting reply to the troll and told them not to drag people she knows into politics. Dismissing the rumours that she married her friend’s husband, she explained how Mona, her husband Zubin Irani’s first wife, is 13 years her senior. Smriti warned her followers not to drag Mona into the mess. She wrote, “Don't drag her in... fight me, argue with me, demean me but don't drag a civilian who has nothing to do with politics into the gutter with you... she deserves respect.” ALSO READ: WHAT?! For the unversed, the Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi actress tied the knot with the Parsi businessman in 2001. They welcomed their first son in October, of the same year and became proud parents to a daughter in September 2003. Irani was earlier married to Mona and they have a daughter named Shanelle together.
Having entered politics in 2003, Smriti has featured in many other tv serials like Ramayan, Virrudh, Teen Bahuraaniyaan and Aatish.
