Union Minister Smriti Irani in a recent interview has opened up about the sad demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. She revealed how his sudden death affected her and recalled the day when she was left numb after she got to know about SSR's demise. The actor-politician made a shocking revelation as she mentioned that she had told Sushant to not kill himself. Smriti even stated that she was in the middle of a video conference when she learned about the actor committing suicide.
Speaking with Neelesh Misra, the Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi actress broke down in tears as she recalled, “The day Sushant died, I was on a VC (video conference). There were many people. But I just couldn’t… I said stop it. I felt like, why did he not call me? He should have called once. I had told that boy, ‘Tum yaar maarna mat apne aap ko (Please don’t kill yourself).” The politician went on to reveal that she used to see Sushant working on the sets adjacent to hers in Mumbai. For the unversed, Sushant Singh Rajput passed away on June 14, 2020, at his residence in Mumbai. He was 34. SSR was found hanging from the ceiling fan at his home in Bandra. Last year, Roopkumar Shah, an employee of Cooper Hospital who had performed a postmortem of Sushant Singh, claimed he didn't die by suicide as they were marks on his body. in an interview, Shah said the actor's eyes were punched and his bones were fractured. he was quoted saying, “He had injuries and his bones were also fractured. I tried to inform my seniors then but they did not listen and asked me to mind my own business. I was a part of the autopsy team but I don't remember who was heading the autopsy team then."
