Veteran Odia actor Raimohan Parida, who was widely known for playing negative roles in films, was found dead at his residence. On Friday, the actor’s body was found in his room by his family members at his residence in Prachi Vihar in Palasuni, Bhubaneswar. Raimohan passed away at the age of 58. The cause of death is yet to be ascertained but it is said to be a case of suicide. The Police has started an investigation into the case.
As per the report in PTI, a case of suicide is suspected. His body will be sent for post-mortem examination. Soon after the news of Raimohan’s tragic demise broke out, heartfelt tributes started pouring in from his industry friends and near and dear ones. Actor Siddhanta Mahapatra, who had worked with Raimohan in several films, called him a 'jolly' person and said it is very hard to believe that a person like him, who survived several ups and downs in life, could ever think of doing something like this. Actor Sritam Das too expressed his shock and said he could not believe that Raimohan who had become a "hero from zero" could commit suicide.
Raimohan Parida was a popular name in Odia and Bengali cinema. He has acted in over 100 Odia films and 15 Bengali movies. Parida started his career in Odia film with ‘Sagar’. The late actor was seen in several super hit movies such as ‘Rama Laxman’, ‘Aasibu Kebe Saji Mo Rani’, ‘Naga Panchami’, Udandi Sita, Tu Thile Mo Dara Kahaku, and others.
Raimohan is survived by his wife and two daughters.
