Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has once again landed in trouble as a non-bailable arrest warrant has been issued against him over the charges of unlawfully selling gifts received from heads of other nations and foreign dignitaries.
The judge remarked that the chargesheet was to be filed today, February 28 and the accused did not appear before the court despite repeated summons.
The former Pak PM has been embroiled in legal trouble for buying gifts, including an expensive Graff wristwatch he had received as the premier at a discounted price from the state depository called Toshakhana and selling them for profit.
Khan’s ouster as Prime Minister came in April 2022, after the National Assembly passed a no-confidence motion against him. The PTI chief came to power in 2018 and he is the only Pakistani PM to be ousted in a no-confidence vote in Parliament.
