Bhojpuri singer Babul Bihari also identified as 21-year-old Abhishek was arrested on Friday by the Gurugram police. He was arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl and clicking her objectionable picture 2 years ago. He was caught by the police after he posted the said photo on his social media handles. According to DNA, he used to reside in Gurugram`s Rajiv Nagar where he had befriended the 13-year-old girl, 2 years ago.
As per the officials, under the pretence of friendship, he had reportedly taken the minor to the hotel. He had allegedly raped her and even clicked her pictures. While the victim didn’t speak of the incident to anyone when it happened, her parents came to know about it only a few days ago. The accused had shared the photo on his social media handles, which went viral on the internet.
Once the victim’s parents came across the viral post, they questioned her about it. It was then that she had revealed what had truly happened.
According to the media publication, the victim’s family approached the police shortly after. They lodged a First Information Report (FIR) at the Sector 14 police station. The complaint was filed under the relevant section of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) and IT Act. The media publication quoted the station house officer of Sector 14 police station, Krishan Kant, saying, “We have arrested the accused. He was produced before a local court and sent to jail.”
