Team India's biggest and oldest fan Charulata Patel is no more. The pictures of the 87-year-old citizen attending a team India's match on a wheelchair and meeting the cricketers during the 2019 World Cup had gone viral on social media. Now, BCCI has sent out a tribute to her as she breathed her last. On this, cricketer Shikhar Dhawan took to his Twitter handle and shared his condolences. Charulata Patel had met cricketers like Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli during the World Cup match.

Shikhar Dhawan on Twitter wrote, "RIP Charulata Patel Ji. Will always remember your passion for the game. Thank you for your unconditional love and support." His fans flooded his feed with condolences messages with a lot of them sharing Charutala's pictures with the star cricketers. BCCI had tweeted, "#TeamIndia's Superfan Charulata Patel ji will always remain in our hearts and her passion for the game will keep motivating us. May her soul rest in peace." Charulata had gone all the way to Edgbaston Cricket in Birmingham to see India's round-robin match against Bangladesh and her pictures cheering for team India had won everyone's hearts. Shah Rukh Khan's cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders too took to Twitter to mourn her death. The message read, "We are sad to learn about the passing of Charulata Patel ji, the adorable 87-year old fan who cheered for 🇮🇳 through last year's #CWC in England. She left for her heavenly abode this Monday. May her soul rest in peace."
