"Shane was having three months off and this was the start of it. They had only arrived the night before. They were going to go out for a drink at 5 o'clock, and Warne's close friend and associate Andrew Neophitou knocked on his door at 5.15 pm because Warnie was always on time and said 'come on you're going to be late' and then realised something was wrong."

Erskine further revealed that Neophitou attempted to perform CPR before the ambulance arrived to take Shane to the hospital but sadly he was pronounced dead shortly after, via Foxsports.com.

The news of Shane's death came hours after the cricketer posted a condolence message for Rodney Marsh, another great icon of Australian cricket, who died at the age of 74 on Friday.
