The Coronavirus that has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation is taking everyone under its wings. Currently, the best way to keep oneself safe is self-isolating and social distancing which is even been announced by the government. Many schools, colleges, offices, public outings, and many more have been shut down, many have locked themselves in the house. However, if one side, you are thinking about how to defeat the deadly virus, we are sure self-quarantining with your partner may arise some sexual feelings.

With this excitement, one may even wonder if they can have sex in the times of Coronavirus. Well, if you do fall into this category, you indeed have come to the right place and you might as well, take a quick read on this sex memo right away so that it would be easy for you take the next step. In the Coronavirus times, one would definitely think about questions like, ‘how long do we have to stay house arrest?’ ‘Will it affect me?’ ‘Will self-quarantine help for the long?’ and here comes another valid question, ‘Can I have sex?’ Hey, don’t be shy, sex is a natural thing and the feelings towards it also come naturally, so this question arising in your mind is not incorrect. Sadly, Coronavirus has made the situation worse and now it is the era of ‘Love in corona times.’

Speaking of which and coming to the point, as people are social distancing, this seems to be the polar opposite of sex because the severe acute respiratory syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) is less able to spread from person to person. Well, according to Forbes, the New York City Department of Health (NYDOH) has issued a set of guidelines entitled “Sex and Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)” that doesn’t beat around the bush. In fact, it’s quite explicit in more ways than one.

The guidelines begin with a reminder of how the COVID-19 Coronavirus spreads. A person infected with the virus can spread SARS-CoV2 to others who are within a six-foot radius through coughs, sneezes or spews out respiratory droplets. The virus can be transmitted through direct contact with the infected person’s saliva or mucus. However, the virus has been found in faeces of people but not in their semen or vaginal fluid and if you’re still thinking of having a good time with your partner, please continue reading, before you ‘jump’ into any conclusions.

Since it is said to keep a six-foot radius distance, this concept obviously doesn’t work in the sexual context as a person is physically very, very close to your partner during sex. Remember, sex with someone else is the exact opposite of social distancing. The portal again enlightens us about the guidelines by the NYCDOH where it is mentioned that one type of sex that can be totally safe: sex with yourself, bouncer? We are talking about masturbation here. The guidelines declare that “you are your safest sex partner.” Plus, you can easily maintain a six-foot distance from other people while masturbating.

Needless to say, as one id opting for this process, please, WASH YOUR (DIRTY) HANDS and that’s not meant in a moralistic way but it’s meant in a microbiological way, also, it is necessary, going by the recent scenario. However, we can understand if you still don’t want to take this route. Remember, getting physical with a person you live has a lower chance than with someone you see a lot less.

The only way to get a better sense would be to shove a cotton swab up your potential partner’s nose and another one to the back of his or her throat and get it tested, although it will ruin your romantic mood, but hey, we are talking about life and death, so get on with it.

If you do have sex with others or have a few partners as possible, the only option would be very quiet and controlled sex with masks on, which would be very creepy for starters but, guess, you will eventually get used to it, depending on your action, if you know what we mean. At the end of the day, if you do have sex, the NYCDOH guidelines have even more detailed information for you. P.S. other than physical hygiene, do not forget a condom while having intercourse.

Meanwhile, there is currently no vaccine or full-body condoms that will protect you or anyone else against this nasty virus. We know this might be a bit disappointing for some, so here are a few songs that might ease out your pain a bit.
