Punjabi-Canadian rapper Shubhneet Singh has once again made waves with a fresh controversy. The musician was accused of mocking India’s former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s assassination by flashing a hoodie depicting the same.
However, the accusations of people stand wrong as Shubh’s hoodie displayed Punjab’s map with a clear outline of its districts and not the one that several people have been sharing over the internet.
As per the reports, Indira Gandhi's illustrated hoodie was sourced from @akaal.clothing on Instagram.
The musician took to his Instagram stories and issued a clarification on the recently viral video, and wrote, "No matter what I do, some people will find something to bring it against me. A lot of clothes, jewellery and phones were thrown at me by the audience at my first show in London. I was there to perform, not to see what got thrown at me and what was on it.”
The statement added, “The team has worked very hard for the last couple of months to perform for you all. STOP SPREADING HATE AND NEGATIVITY."
The video sparked controversy over Twitter and was shared with the caption, “Khalistani singer Shubh glorified Indira Gandhi's killers in London by wearing a hoodie with pic and date of her assassination on the map of Punjab. Earlier, when he posted a distorted map of Bharat, Congress and the leftist ecosystem defended him tooth and nail.”
Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut slammed Singer Shubh for his alleged mockery towards Indira Gandhi who she is playing in her next - Emergency.
She added, "One must be ashamed of such a cowardly attack on an elderly lady who was disarmed and unaware, a lady who was the chosen leader of a democracy, nothing to glorify here Shubham ji. Shame !!!"
