Actress Rakul Preet Singh made a name for herself in the entertainment industry with her versatile performances. Having predominantly worked in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu films, she is currently enjoying her wedding with filmmaker Jackky Bhagnani. Her brother Aman Preet SIngh, who co-owns a talent discovery platform called Starring You along with the actress, was recently arrested by the Hyderabad police in connection to a drug case. As reported by the Hindustan Times, the joint operation of the case was conducted by the Narcotics Bureau and Rajendra Nagar SOT Police under Cyberabad Police's jurisdiction.
On Monday, the officials held a press meeting in Hyderabad where they discussed the details of the case. They revealed that five people were arrested in connection to the case of drug peddling. Aman’s name came up in the list of 13 others who had consumed the drug and tested positive. Confirming the same, the officials mentioned that the Ninnepelladata actor will be produced in front of the court.
Quoted by the media publication, during the press meeting, the police stated, “I will only comment on whom Aman is connected to once we investigate the case more. We need to check when his association began with the accused, who consist of some Indians and Nigerians. Some of them are repeat offenders. But we believe it might be for a year and a half. Aman tested positive for using cocaine in the urine test. It is confirmed that he’s an actor, he did not say if it’s on Tollywood or elsewhere.”
For those who don’t know, the 33-year-old actress was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate, in an alleged money laundering case connected to the drug case. The officials went on to mention that, Rakul has nothing to do with the case and that they aren’t investigating her. “Her name needn't be dragged in unnecessarily, so we will not be commenting on it,” they concluded.
Talking about the fug case, it is being reported that the police have seized around 199 grams of cocaine, 2 passports, 2 bikes, and 10 cell phones with connection to the case. Hindustan Times reports that accused peddlers Onuoha Blessing, Azeez Nohaam Adeshola, Alla Satya Venkata Gowtham, Sanaboina Varun Kumar, and Mohd Mahaboob Shareef have been arrested, and Divine Ebuka Suzee and Ezeonyili Franklin Uchenna were absconded. Further details on the case are being awaited as the investigation is underway.
