Ahead of Tamil Nadu elections that are supposed to take place in 2021, superstar Rajinikanth recently took to his Twitter handle and shared his official statement, putting all the speculations to rest. After a letter about his political party surfaced online and people speculating that the letter is written by Thalaiva, he quickly took time to clarify it and claimed that the letter is not his. His official statement also hinted that Rajinikanth is reconsidering a future in politics as he mentioned that he will announce his political stand at an 'appropriate time.' The letter also appeared to cite the Coronavirus pandemic as the reason for the actor dropping his political plans.
Clearing the air, actor's official letter read, "The letter is not mine but the information on my health and doctors' advice is true. I shall discuss with Rajini Makkal Mandram and shall announce my political stand at an appropriate time." That's not it, the letter even indicated that the doctors have advised the actor to restrict his movements and stay away from campaigning since he has a kidney condition and could be even more vulnerable to COVID-19.
On the professional front, Annatthe starring Rajinikanth, Nayanthara, Prakash Raaj and Keerthy Suresh is in the making. Reportedly, the shoot that came to a halt due to pandemic will now be deferred, considering Rajinikanth's health and safety. They have 40 days of shoot remaining and the makers are planning to wrap it by year-end, so that it would be ready for a summer release.
