For filmmaker Karan Johar, the year 2020 was quite an important one professionally. While on the personal front, the filmmaker faced a lot of backlash post Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, on the professional front, Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment released a web film, Guilty, and a web series, Fabulous Lives Of Bollywood Wives. In December, he announced a talent management venture Dharma Cornerstone Agency in partnership with Bunty Sajdeh. Dharma became the second Bollywood production house after Yash Raj Films to have a talent management wing.
Now, if reports are to be believed, Rajeev Masand has quit journalism and will be joining Karan Johar’s Dharma Cornerstone Agency As COO. A report in Bollywood Hungama states that Karan Johar has hired Rajeev Masand for his agency. A source informed the portal, “Journalist Rajeev Masand is all set to join DCA next week. He’ll be working as the COO of the company. Karan and other top authorities at Dharma believe that he’ll be the right person for the job and help them in scouting fresh talent and managing them.”
The report further stated that this could mean Rajeev Masand may have quit journalism for good. “That’s what it seems like. He has been heard telling that he’s taking a sabbatical from journalism. However, looking at other journalists who quit the field completely when getting into film production and related business, it seems like Rajeev Masand, too, would go the same way,” informed the source.
Rajeev Masand, a popular journalist and film critic, has worked for The Times Of India, The Indian Express, Star News, CNN-IBN.
