The Ambani and Merchant families are currently over the moon as their youngest kids are all set to tie the knot on July 12th. After hosting two extravagant pre-wedding ceremonies, the couple is gearing up for their much-awaited wedding. On Wednesday evening, the family hosted a Mameru ceremony, which was attended by many well-known celebrities. For the soiree, Radhika opted to wear a traditional Bandhani lehenga from the shelves of fashion designer Manish Malhotra. Taking to his official social media handle, the designer shared photos of the bride-to-be’s gorgeous ensemble.
For those who don’t know, the Mameru ceremony is a Gujarati tradition where the brides' maternal uncles bless their nieces for a beautiful future ahead. They gift them sarees, ornaments, and sweets as they are about to begin a new life with a new family.
Radhika Merchant is the daughter of Encore Healthcare CEO Viren Merchant and Shaila Merchant. The Ambanis hosted their first pre-wedding celebration in March 2024, to introduce their wildlife center Vantara to the guests. This was followed by a cruise outing in May with the theme ‘La Vita E Un Viaggio’. According to the reports by Bollywood Shaadis, the ship costs around USD 900 million (approximately Rs 7,500 crore).
A few days ago, Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding invitation mentioned that they would be tying the knot on July 12, 2024, in the presence of their family and friends. The three-day-long wedding ceremony will begin with their Shubh Vivaah, and then on July 13, Shubh Aashirwad will be hosted. The ceremonies will conclude with their wedding reception Mangal Utsav on July 14th. The ceremonies will be taking place at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai.
