Prince William’s mother Princess Diana had revealed decades ago that Prince William had called her during his boarding school days when his friends teased him after his mother's topless photos were published in 1996. During a lunch conversation with the then publisher of Vogue UK, Princess Diana told Nicholas Coleridge that she received a call from Prince William when he was in his boarding school.  Then 14, the Prince had called up her mom to tell her that his classmates were teasing him over the photos of his mother soaking up the sun on a balcony in Spain.

Nicholas Coleridge, In his recently published memoir, The Glossy Years, recalls the time when Princess Diana during a lunch meet shared with him her ordeal. The memoir states, Diana told Coleridge, “William rang me from Eton. Poor boy, he’s only 14. He was upset. He said some of the other boys were teasing him, saying my tits are too small." She further said, “I became breathless, and went as red as a guardsman’s tunic.” However, he reassured her that her breasts were “perfect,” and “told her not to worry.”

The Princess further told Nicholas Coleridge “Thank you, Nicholas. I knew you’d tell me the truth,” Diana told Coleridge. “Thank you, I feel better now.”

According to a report in The Sun.co.uk, in 2012, paparazzi had invaded the privacy of the royal family in the same fashion. William had then sued the magazine when the shutterbug had clicked topless pictures of Kate Middleton. The photographs were then published by Closer, alongside an article about the couple under the headline "Oh my God!,” reports the website.

Later, the couple had sued the French magazine closer for £1.3million and demanded a further £42,000 in damages from La Provence.
