" Prince Philip, officially known as the Duke of Edinburgh, married Princess Elizabeth in 1947. As per reports, the flags at Downing Street have been lowered to half-mast as a mark of respect to the Duke of Edinburgh, post the announcement of his death.
In February this year, Prince Philip was admitted to King Edward VII's hospital as he was feeling unwell. According to BBC, Prince Philip had later undergone a procedure for a pre-existing heart condition at St Bartholomew's and he left the hospital in March after staying there for a month for the treatment.
