Telugu actor-politician Uppalapati Venkata Krishnam Raju, popularly known as Krishnam Raju left for his heavenly abode Sunday morning. He died at the age of 83 in Hyderabad due to health complications. Krishnam was Baahubali fame Prabhas' uncle and also starred in his recent offering ‘Radhe Shyam.’ Reportedly, the veteran actor was suffering from health issues for some time and was getting treated at a private hospital. Krishnam’s demise has sent shockwaves across the entire South Film Industry. 

As per Times Now report, the veteran actor was likely to get discharged in a few days. However, his health failed to improve and thus he died. After the news of his death broke out, heartfelt tributes started pouring in from celebrities on social media. While paying her tribute, Anushka Shetty shared a throwback picture of her with Krishnam Raju and wrote, “Rest in peace our very own Krishnam raju garu a legend a soul with the biggest heart ..U will live on in our hearts (sic).”

Karthikeya 2 fame Nikhil Siddhartha also mourned the sad demise of the former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and called him ‘legend’ and ‘man with a heart of Gold.’

To note, Krishnam Raju was the first actor who served as a Union Minister in the cabinet of India's former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He had an impressive career in the film industry with many blockbuster films to his credit. He was widely known for his performances in movies like Tandra Paparayudu, Amara Deepam Katakatala Rudrayya, and Manavoori Pandavulu to name a few. The late actor was last seen in Prabhas' Radhe Shyam, which was released in March this year.
