Popular Video Game PUBG Amongst 118 Banned Chinese Apps In India; Here's How Twitterverse Is Reacting To It

The central government on Wednesday banned 118 Chinese mobile apps, including the popular game PUBG also known as PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. Earlier, when PUBG did not feature in the previous list of 59 apps, all the fans across the country were delighted to see the game missing from the list, however, it was under government's radar. Well, much to everyone's dismay, the game has now been officially banned in India, as reported by ANI. The decision of banning several Chinese apps was announced considering the escalating tension between India and China. Earlier, the government announced a ban on 59 Chinese apps including some popular apps like TikTok, Shein, UC Browser, Share It, Romwe and many more. 
 
This time around, "the Government blocks 118 mobile apps which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, Defence of India, Security of State and Public Order: Govt of India," as claimed by the same portal. PUBG MOBILE Nordic Map: Livik, PUBG MOBILE LITE, WeChat Work & WeChat reading, Ludo World-Ludo Superstar, PUBG MOBILE Nordic Map: Livik, PUBG MOBILE LITE, Rise of Kingdoms: Lost Crusade, Game of Sultans are among the banned mobile apps. The portal even shared a list of 118 apps that were axed by the government.
 
As soon as the news hit the social media and headlines, fans of PUBG couldn't handle it and flooded social media with their reactions. From sharing some funny memes to being completely shattered to hear the news, Twitterverse seemed to be having a meltdown. 


For the unversed, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, popularly known as PUBG is an online multiplayer battle game which is developed and published by PUBG Corporation, a subsidiary of South Korean company named, Bluehole. Chinese multinational conglomerate Tencent holds a considerable amount of share in the popular game.
