Hansika Motwani, who started her career as a child artist, has carved a successful nice for herself in the South film industry. Before venturing into films, she appeared in several popular TV shows including ‘Shaka Laka Boom Boom’ and 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.’ She also played Hrithik Roshan’s friend in the 2003 film Koi Mil Gaya. After four years, Hansika made her debut at the age of 16 in Himesh Reshammiya's film, Aap Ka Surroor. She looked all grown up in the film.
Her sudden transformation from a cute little girl to an adult left everyone quite shocked. Rumour had it that Motwani took a hormonal injection to look like a grown-up adult. There were reports doing the rounds that the actress’s mother Mona Motwani, who is a dermatologist by profession, gave her daughter the hormonal injections so that she could look all grown up in her maiden film. However, nothing has been confirmed in this regard. In fact, Hansika Motwani has never addressed such rumours in the public. She has neither confirmed nor denied it. Meanwhile, Hansika Motwani has completed a journey of her 50 films with her recent film Maha. Reflecting back on her journey from child artist to women-centric film, the actress told Pinkvilla that she feels it like a blessing. There have been good and bad criticisms from critics and they have shaped her in a better way. “Ups and downs have imparted great lessons to me. When I meet failures, I take it as an opportunity to relook, at where things went wrong and rectify them. The journey in the movie industry is all about understanding the pulse of the audience. When you’re clear about what they expect from you, then you will be able to deliver your best,” Motwani was quoted saying.
Hansika was recently seen in Maha which was released in all South languages. The film garnered a good response from critics and the audience alike.
