Veteran Olympian Milkha Singh has tested positive for COVID-19. He is currently in home isolation at his residence in Chandigarh. Flying Sikh is at his home in Sector 8, Chandigarh. According to a report, the 91-year-old tested positive for the virus on Thursday. As per the reports, the legendary Indian sprinter is learnt to be running with 101 fever since Wednesday night. However, the reports mentioned that Milkha Singh’s condition is stable. News 18 reported that Singh is asymptomatic and that no other family member of his has tested positive.
According to a report in Hindustan Times, Milkha Singh’s wife Nirmal Kaur revealed he is doing fine. She said, “He is doing fine and is stable. But I’m worried as he is 91. The local Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research has sent an attendant along with oxygen facilities to look after him. We are all praying for his speedy recovery.” Milkha Singh’s wife also revealed that the legendary Indian sprinter has not been vaccinated yet.
Nirmal Kaur said that the athlete’s daughter, Mona Milkha Singh, an emergency room (ER) doctor at Metropolitan Hospital Center in New York City is constantly on a video call with her parents. She said, “Mona is constantly on a video call with me and Milkha jee. She is a great help and is guiding us. We are now waiting for (son) Jeev to join us.” His son Jeev Milkha Singh, an Indian golfer spoke about his father’s health and said, “He is fine and in good spirits. God willing, he will pull through. I’m out of the country but returning on Saturday.”
