The Supreme Court last month had dismissed the review plea filed by one of the accused and had asked the lower court to issue the death warrant. Earlier, the Apex Court had dismissed the pleas of convicts Mukesh (30), Pawan Gupta (23) and Vinay Sharma (24) seeking the review of the death penalty awarded to them in 2017. The 5th and the main accused named Ram Singh had reportedly committed suicide when he was locked in Tihar jail. The 6th accused was a minor and hence, released after three years of being in reform centre.
