This afternoon, Bombay High Court rejected the Republic's Editor-In-Chief Arnab Goswami’s interim bail plea. A couple of days back, the TV journalist along with two others – Feroze Shaikh and Neetish Sarda — were arrested by Alibaug police. The trio has been sent into the judicial custody of 14 days in connection with 2018’s the abetment of suicide of architect-interior designer Anvay Naik and his mother over alleged non-payment of dues by Arnab’s company. As per early reports, Arnab Goswami has allegedly not paid Anvay a sum of Rs 90 lakh for his studio work which allegedly forced the architect to take the drastic step. Home Minister Anil Deshmukh had ordered a probe into the 2-year-old suicide case that was reopened in September.
Now as per the latest development, Bombay HC has rejected his bail plea and has asked Arnab to file for fresh bail plea in the sessions court. Well, soon after HC’s decision made headlines, Twitterverse had its own way of reminding Arnab how he made a mockery of Rhea's last words to Sushant. Netizens are trending ‘Sorry Babu’ on Twitter and have come up with some hilarious memes. A user wrote, “Sorry Babu, said HC to Arnab, setting a stellar example of Justice delivery uninfluenced by Power or Money; which Gogoi and Mishra specialised in,” while another said, “Judge is also saying I am "Sorry Babu.”
For the unversed, Rhea Chakraborty, during her interview with Rajdeep Sardesai revealed that after seeing Sushant Singh Rajput’s mortal remains in the hospital she apologised to him and said, ‘Sorry Babu.’
Controversial queen Kangana Ranaut had recently reacted to Arnab’s arrest. In her video message, she said that Arnab was assaulted and arrested, but people will keep speaking up. If one person’s voice is silenced, many others will raise their voice.
