Auspicious Muhurta of Kalash Sthapana: The set up of Kalash for 9 days on the first day of Navratri. Setting up a Kalash on an auspicious time gives auspicious results in Navratri. The auspicious time for Ghatasthapana in Shardiya Navratri is from 6.17 am to 7.07 am on October 7.
Worship method: On the day of Navratri, it is suggested that get up before sunrise and wear clean clothes after taking bath. Then clean the temple set up in the house. Lay a chowki for the worship of the mother, first purify it with Gangajal, and then spread a red cloth on it. Now sow jowar by putting soil in a pot near the outpost. Establish a picture or idol of Maa Durga on the post. Then first make a swastika for setting up the Kalash. Put water, akshat, betel nut, roli, and coins in the Kalash and then wrap a red-colored chunri on it. Then place a coconut on it. After that worship Maa Durga by lighting a lamp of ghee.
Usually, devotees observe fast for the entire 9 days of Navratri with devotion and worship the mother. Some people fast for the entire 9 days, whereas, some devotees observe fast only for the first and last day.
