With major events being cancelled across the world due to the outbreak of COVID-19, one of these events is Indian Premier League. IPL 2020 which was scheduled to kick start on March 29, 2020, was later suspended till April 15, with no certain date chalked out by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). However, now with the lockdown period of 21 days chances of this most awaited tournament to kick start or at least decision to be made on it also looks bleak.

However, with everyone keeping their finger crossed comes an answer from Mumbai Indians team captain Rohit Sharma and well it’s not good news either. Rohit revealed during an Instagram live chat session with Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen. Just like commoners, the cricketer too expressed of being unclear about the date when the much-awaited cricket league will kick start. He said, “At some stage, when things settle down, it might happen, who knows.”

Hence now, everything revolved around COVID-19 pandemic and the day it settles down, thus making it favourable for the world to release the pause button and get back to their normal life.

Indian cricketer Vijay Shankar in conversation with mykhel.com, too sounded similar to Rohit Sharma. He too said, “No message, nothing. But things don’t look promising at this point and it would be too early to comment upon anything. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and wait.” ALSO READ: Coronavirus Outbreak: After IPL 2020 Dates Shifted, The India VS South Africa ODI Series Matches Are Finally Called Off
