It was one glorious moment for all the people of South Africa as the dazzling Zozibini Tunzi won the Miss Universe crown. Leaving behind Miss Universe Puerto Rico Madison Anderson, Zozibini had the most iconic moment of her life as she got crowned as Miss Universe 2019. Well, it was her answer on women empowerment, that got her this glory. On stage, in the finale round, she was asked what is the most important thing that we should be teaching young girls today, and her answer was received with thunderous applause.
Zozibini Tunzi stated that young girls should be taught - leadership. "It is something that has been lacking in young girls and women for a very long time. It's not because we don't want to, it is because what society has labeled women to be. I think we are the most powerful beings on the world and that we should be given every opportunity," she said. Her views on women empowerment and that women should take up space impressed one and all, as audiences could not stop cheering for her. Pretty impressive! Post her victory, Zozibini took to Instagram to dedicate her win to her parents. Sharing a few pictures, she wrote, "I am because you are. You’ve given me life, you’ve raised me to be the woman I am so that I can stand in a far away land proudly knowing where I’m rooted and where I come from. You’ve sacrificed so much and fought battles I don’t even know about, everything so that we could have all the opportunities the Universe has to offer. I am forever grateful and hope to make you proud, every single day of my life!"
Congratulations to the lady!
