Mahatma Gandhi or Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, the Father of our Nation, was born on October 2, 1869. Hence, this day is celebrated as Gandhi Jayanti all over India. Heroics of Mahatma Gandhi are in abundance and this place is indeed small to sum up the legendary life of Mahatma Gandhi. It was because of him that India attained its Independence from the British rule. His theory of Satyagraha brought India its freedom from the struggle that Britishers leveled on us. Non-cooperation movement, Dandi March, Swadeshi movement and many other events that led British Raj to come to an end India were the brainchild of Gandhi.
