Popular standup comedian Kunal Kamra recently confronted Arnab Goswami aboard an IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Lucknow. Kamra had posted a video of his encounter with Arnab on social media, where he can be seen demanding answers from him, asking if Arnab is a ‘coward or a journalist’. The video went absolutely viral on social media after which IndiGo airlines had suspended him from flying with the Airlines for a period of 6 months. IndiGo Airlines had tweeted, “In light of the recent incident on board 6E 5317 from Mumbai to Lucknow, we wish to inform that we are suspending Mr Kunal Kamra from flying with IndiGo for a period of six months, as his conduct onboard was unacceptable behavior.”
Now, Kunal Kamra has reportedly issued a legal notice to IndiGo airlines through Advocate Prashant Sivarajan, Partner at Lawmen & White. According to the notice obtained by livelaw.in, the notice seeks the airlines to revoke his suspension from flying with Indigo Airlines with immediate effect, and also an unconditional apology in all leading newspapers, electronic media, and social media platforms operated by the airlines. Apart from this, he also seeks compensation of Rs 25 lakhs, on account of mental pain that he suffered and the losses he faces due to the cancellation of his scheduled programmes. The notice also demands that action be taken against errant officials responsible for imposing the instant ban in abrogation of the DGCA CARs.

In his letter to the IndiGo management, the pilot asked them why he wasn’t consulted before taking such a drastic step of banning Kunal Kamra.
