A devastating landslide recently hit the Wayanad district in Kerala, claiming 300 lives and causing significant disruption to the local communities. The landslide, triggered by heavy rains, buried homes and left countless people trapped under the debris. Rescue teams, including the Indian Army, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and local emergency response units, have been tirelessly working against the clock under harsh conditions to search for survivors in the affected areas, three days after the disaster struck. Amidst this calamity, megastar Mohanlal, who holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Territorial Army, visited the landslide-hit Wayanad on Saturday. Clad in his army uniform, Mohanlal engaged in discussions with the officers before visiting the devastated areas. Honored with the lieutenant colonel rank in the Territorial Army in 2009, the actor demonstrated his commitment to service and solidarity by offering support during this crisis. 

Earlier, Mohanlal took to Facebook to express his gratitude to the officials for their dedicated efforts towards aiding the citizens of the country. He posted several pictures of the rescue operations and captioned them, “I salute the courage of the selfless volunteers, policemen, Fire & Rescue, NDRF, army soldiers, government officials, and every person working tirelessly to provide relief to the victims of the Wayanad disaster. I am grateful for the efforts of my 122 Infantry Battalion, TA Madras, who have been at the forefront of the relief mission. We have faced challenges before and emerged stronger. I pray that we stand united and show the strength of our unity in this difficult time. Jai Hind!”




In addition to his on-ground support, Mohanlal shared another post urging the public to refrain from spreading false information about the incident. He emphasized the importance of staying safe and responsible during this time of crisis. He wrote, “In light of the ongoing heavy rainfall and the natural disaster, please make every effort to stay safe. Fully abide by the government orders and avoid travel as much as possible.
