It was on February 19 that a tragic mishap took place on the sets of Kamal Haasan’s upcoming film Indian 2. As a consequence of the same, three team members ended up losing their lives, whereas around 10 people were severely injured after a crane crashed on the ground. This news created havoc on the internet and the crane operated was soon arrested. Now, we hear that the director of Indian 2 Shankar, too, was grilled by the CBI post the incident.
In a report by Times of India, summonses were sent to Shankar and actor Kamal Haasan. Reportedly, Shankar was interrogated for a good two hours at their office located in Chennai’s Vepery. However, it’s not known as to what was asked to Shankar on this matter. Well, a day before being quizzed by the CBI, Shankar had taken to his Twitter account and expressed his grief on the mishap. The filmmaker added that it would have been better if it was him under the crane.
“It is with utmost grief, I’m tweeting. Since the tragic incident, I’ve been in a state of shock & having sleepless nights on the loss of my AD & crew. Having missed the crane by a whisker, I feel it would’ve been better if it was on me. Heartfelt condolences & prayers to the families,” read his tweet.
Soon after the tragic incident, Kamal Haasan, too, had shared his sadness and offered condolences to families of all the team members who lost their lives. “I have faced and overcome many accidents, but today's is the most horrific one. I lost three colleagues. The distress of their family members will be many times greater than my own pain. I share their grief as one of them. My deepest condolences to them," wrote the actor.
