We have all been put under house arrest because of the lockdown following the Coronavirus outbreak. People are following the suit while maintaining social distancing from each other. However, social distancing, quarantine, lockdown laws were all broken and went in the vain when the government opened the gates of liquor sale across all the country. As per the government's order, only standalone shops were allowed to sell liquor except for malls or liquor shops in shopping complexes. And this obviously prompted people to throng liquor shops in huge numbers, flouting of social distancing norms.

Seeing people acting like maniacs outside the liquor shops, many celebs opposed Government for taking this step. Right from Malaika Arora, Arjun Rampal to TV celebs like Dalljiet Kaur, Devoleena Bhattacharjee and Umar Riaz, all have expressed their disappointment on the re-opening of liquor shops. Adding to the list, we see the South superstar Kamal Haasan also reacting on the same while expressing his disappointment. The actor took to his Twitter handle and wrote a note about the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation aka TASMAC's case.

His tweet read, “The State Government is showing its eagerness in ensuring social welfare by opening liquor shops. The people should now think about how justice should be meted out to this government.”  For the unversed, recently, it was announced that the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation is planning to re-open liquor shops. The actor is miffed with the decision owing to the continuous rise in the COVID-19 cases in the country.
