Self-proclaimed film critic Kamaal Rashid Khan aka KRK on Tuesday was arrested by Mumbai Police over his controversial tweet in 2020 where he allegedly used derogatory remarks against late actors Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan. Reportedly, he was sent to 14-day judicial custody by the Borivali court. As per the latest update on this, KRK has been admitted to Shatabdi hospital after he complained of having chest pain. Hours after his arrest, he told Police about his chest pain, and thus he was brought to the hospital.
Yuva Sena member Rahul Kanal has lodged a complaint against him at Malad Police Station. In his complaint, he alleged that KRK often makes “derogatory comments on social media and uses foul language and such kind of behavior is not acceptable in society. “Kamal R Khan has been arrested today on my complaint. I welcome this move by Mumbai police. He makes derogatory comments on social media and uses foul language. Such kind of behavior is unacceptable in society. By arresting him, Mumbai police has sent out a strong message against such people,” Rahul was quoted saying.
Earlier, an FIR was registered against Kamaal over his tweet against late actors Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan in 2020. To note, KRK often attacks Bollywood celebrities and slams Hindi films on social media. Even Salman Khan's lawyer had filed a defamation suit against KRK for using defamatory statements against the actor. Last year, Khan's advocates clarified that the case was filed because of KRK's allegation of corruption and money laundering against the Sultan star. Not to forget, Kamaal had also apologized to Salman and asked him to withdraw the case. Clearly, it seems like KRK has not learned his lesson yet!
