Pop sensation Justin Bieber recently travelled to the USA after performing at the pre-wedding sangeet ceremony of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Mumbai on July 5. A video circulating online shows Bieber exiting his car and entering the airport premises. However, he has faced criticism for ignoring the paparazzi stationed outside the airport.
During the Ambani event, Bieber performed several of his popular tracks including "Boyfriend," "Baby," "No Brainer," and "Sorry." The event was attended by many Bollywood celebrities, cricketers, and politicians. Social media is filled with videos of Bieber's performance, with many fans praising his electrifying presence on stage. Despite this, his behavior at the airport has left some of his Indian fans disappointed. In the video shared by a celebrity paparazzo on Instagram, photographers can be heard asking Bieber to pose for them and even requesting a picture with him. Bieber did not respond and quickly entered the airport, only shaking hands with a few people present at the entry gate.
After the video was posted, it sparked a debate among social media users. While many criticized Bieber for his apparent disregard for the photographers, others defended him, stating that he has the right to choose not to pose for pictures. Some users compared Bieber's actions to Rihanna, who had waited to pose with the paparazzi at Jamnagar airport after performing at another event for the Ambanis in March 2024.
One user commented, "Itna chilla kyu rahe ho yaar. He doesn’t want to pose. Koi zabardasti hai Kya? He’s probably tired after performing. He came to work, fulfilled his commitment and is peacefully leaving." Another user said, "Rihanna was better; at least she posed and seemed friendly." A different user remarked, "10 million dollars for an hour of private show. That's really expensive and he doesn't even wait for a post-show meet up. The guy really wants to go home considering he is going to be a father soon."
Bieber arrived in Mumbai early on July 5, marking his return to India after seven years. He had previously announced a concert in India in 2022, which was later canceled due to health issues. According to media reports, the singer charged the Ambanis a staggering Rs 83 crore to perform at the sangeet ceremony.
