Irrfan Khan, one of India’s finest actors, passed away today in Mumbai. His death is a huge loss and the actor will be sorely missed by the film industry and millions of his fans worldwide. The heartbreaking news of his demise comes merely days after Irrfan's mother Saeeda Begum died on Saturday in Jaipur. The actor had been diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour in 2018, and he fought valiantly. He had been admitted to the ICU of Kokilaben Ambani Hospital on Tuesday after he suffered from a colon infection. His death has left everyone in shock and not just Bollywood celebrities, politicians, sports fraternity among others have also been extending condolences to his family on social media.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his Twitter and wrote, “Irrfan Khan’s demise is a loss to the world of cinema and theatre. He will be remembered for his versatile performances across different mediums. My thoughts are with his family, friends and admirers. May his soul rest in peace.” Political leaders including Congress leader  Rahul Gandhi, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar and others also took to their social media 
to mourn the loss and pay heartfelt condolences to Irrfan Khan’s family.

Irrfan Khan's filmography includes not just Bollywood films such as The Lunchbox, Angrezi Medium, Hindi Medium, Piku, Life In A Metro, Haider, but also Holywood films such as Life of Pi, Slumdog Millionaire, Inferno, Jurassic Park, The Amazing Spiderman and more.
