With COVID-19 cases on the rise, it has been recently reported that some staff members of MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings like the CEO Kasi Viswanathan, CSK bowling coach L Balaji and a bus cleaner from the CSK have being diagnosed with Coronavirus. According to the latest report in ESPN Cricinfo, CSK has cancelled the practice sessions, as well as the players who are currently in the national capital, will have to undergo the COVID test again today on Monday.
However, indianexpress.com revealed that the team will undergo testing again to be double sure. “The CSK team will undergo another testing today of those who are found positive. CSK wants to double-check the testing reports. Till then, all players have been informed to stay under isolation and further tests will be done on every individual,” sources in the Indian board stated. Nevertheless, an official statement on this is yet to announce, till then, we wish for a speedy recovery.
Earlier, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued a statement confirming that the match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had been rescheduled as two KKR players, Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier had contracted the virus.
“Varun Chakaravarthy and Sandeep Warrier were found to be positive in the third round of testing in the last four days. All other team members have tested negative for COVID -19. Both the players have isolated themselves from the rest of the squad. The Medical Team is in continuous touch with the duo and are monitoring their health. Meanwhile, the Kolkata Knight Riders have now moved towards a daily testing routine to identify any other possible cases and treat them at the earliest,” the statement read.
