This afternoon,
Chennai Super Kings’ veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh walking out of IPL 2020 made headlines and how. The reports suggested Harbhajan cited personal reasons to the CSK team for his exit. With his withdrawal from CSK team, Harbhajan became the second player to make an exit, after Suresh Raina walked out of the team citing personal reasons. For the unversed, Suresh Raina, who had flown to the UAE, along with CSK members, returned to India. Raina’s uncle passed away and aunt is in critical condition after being attacked violently in Pathankot.
As the rumours of Bhajji stepping down became stronger with each passing hour, he now took to his Twitter and confirmed the same. Harbhajan Singh addressed his fans and informed them he will not play IPL 2020 due to personal reasons. He further requested some privacy as he spends some time with his family. He went on to thank the CSK management for their tremendous support. Suresh Raina returned to India, while Singh, who was in India will continue to stay back.
Bhajji Tweeted, “Dear Friends I will not be playing IPL this year due to personal reasons. These are difficult times and I would expect some privacy as I spend time with my family. @ChennaiIPL. CSK management has been extremely supportive and I wish them a great IPL Stay safe and Jai Hind.” A source close to the development revealed to ANI, “He has not sent in any official communication and that is expected by today evening or tomorrow. But the team management has been told to prepare for the scenario wherein they may miss his services.”
