Recently, CSK CEO KS Viswanathan informed that Chennai Super Kings' player Suresh Raina who was in UAE for Indian Premier League 2020 had to return home due to personal reasons. However, the purpose of his return was unknown. Now, the latest report in jagran.com claimed that Raina's relatives are in critical condition. It is reported Suresh's uncle has passed away while his aunt is in critical condition after a violent attack in Pathankot. Reportedly, an attack occurred on the night of August 19 when the family was sleeping on the terrace of their residence in Pathankot's Thariyal village.
Just then, the unidentified assailants attacked them with lethal weapons, due to which, Raina's father's sister Asha Devi is critical and fighting for survival while his uncle Ashok Kumar succumbed to the injuries. His cousins have also attained injuries during the violent attack, as claimed by the same portal.
Earlier, CSK official Twitter handle shared a tweet of CEO KS Viswanathan's quote which read, "Suresh Raina has returned to India for personal reasons and will be unavailable for the remainder of the IPL season. Chennai Super Kings offers complete support to Suresh and his family during this time."
